OUR ROOTS

Monara is a expression of love, subtle in form yet grounded in identity. It reflects the vision of founders Carol and Makame Monnakgotla to build something enduring from the foundations of their Bakubung heritage.

In Sinhalese, Monara translates to peacock — a symbol long associated with dignity, beauty, and love. The peacock does not conceal its splendour; it reveals it with intention. In the same way, Monara is an expression of devotion — to family, to craft, and to the responsibility of legacy carried forward with pride.
